It’s my second year in PIT. Here’s a blurb on our Improv Troupe. “The Pepperdine Improv Troupe is a tight-knit ensemble of 14 students and 2 professional instructors-one of which specializes in musical accompaniment. The Troupe’s purpose is to teach excellence in improvisational skills and put on spectacular shows. The Troupe’s instructor is the incredible Brian Jones who brings a teaching philosophy centered around remarkable standards of skill and a warmth of emotional honesty, sincerity, and vulnerablitiy. PIT currently performs about once a month to a packed house on Pepperdine’s campus as well as various gigs around the area. A typical show usually consist of short form games with an occasional minimusical or soap opera scene. Allen Simpson accompanies the troupe on the keyboard.”
In addition to all the traditional forms of improv, in 2018 I tried improvised stand-up comedy. New Year’s resolution: write a tight five.
