Great Reviews of SHOWSTOPPER at Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

Edinburgh, Scotland. The reviews are coming in of SHOWSTOPPER and I’m happy to report that people are loving my one woman show! (It’s a tongue-in-cheek parody of the life of struggling Hollywood actress reaching for the stars.)

I even had an official theatre critic from Scotland’s national paper, The Scotsman, write a real review! Super official. Below are a few excerpts:

The Scotsman Newspaper: SHOWSTOPPER

Gilded Balloon Teviot (Venue 14) until 28 August

…The Fringe is awash with self-possessed young performers convinced of their own talent but Isabel Klein is different in that she is more convinced of it than most and on less apparent evidence too. To be clear: that’s Isabel, the character in this charmingly awkward self-consciously self-aggrandizing one-woman show. Klein, the performer is already a pretty successful American actress with a pretty impressive collection of screen credits – commercials mainly but a Lifetime movie too… Klein is such a charming stage presence that you can’t help but root for her and hope that she – and Isabel – succeed. Rory Ford

So that was awesome, thank you, Rory! Even better,  audience members are having a great time.

Jack writes: “Showstopper is easily my favourite show of The Fringe! Extremely funny, well written, and fantastically performed. Isabel Klein really can do it all! I’ve been back to see it several times because it’s just that good, but don’t take my word for it, go and see it for yourself!”

Hannah writes: “My favourite show at the Fringe!! I’ve seen it more times than I’m willing to admit. Isabel Klein can do anything (excl. backflip), she’s sensationally funny and is great at working the crowd!”

Izzy writes: “Amazing show – loved it! She’s defo a star!! X”

Caroline writes: “Determined attempt to show an American/Californian wannabee in a satirical role. She throws herself into the idea with full force with lots of audience connection.”

THANK YOU, THANK YOU EVERYBODY!

Isabel Klein

Isabel Klein is an actress and writer from Portland—keepin’ it weird. She's in the Sunday Company at The Groundlings. Isabel trained at RADA in London. Her solo show, SHOWSTOPPER, sold out at the Gilded Balloon during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has performed at The Comedy Store and The Hollywood Improv. She holds a BFA from Pepperdine. She has more than a dozen film and video credits, including clinging to life as OD Girl #2 in On Call (Amazon Prime), and she’s also part of an upcoming project with Trey Parker and Matt Stone. An experienced stage actor, she's had lead roles in notable productions. Her commercial credits include Airheads, Dave & Buster’s, Sonic (the drive-thru, not the hedgehog), Ring, and Visa—so odds are you’ve skipped her on YouTube.
